Software License

Understand the MIT license declared by Aria UI packages and the copyright, license, and third-party notices to preserve when using component code.

Last updated

Aria UI component packages declare the MIT license in their package metadata. Check the license and copyright notices supplied with the specific package and version you use. This page is an overview; it does not replace the applicable license text.

The MIT license

The MIT license permits using, modifying, and distributing covered software, including in commercial projects, subject to its conditions. Copies or substantial portions must retain the copyright and permission notices. The license also contains warranty and liability provisions.

Using component code

Whether you install a package or copy component source into your application, preserve the notices that accompany it. Review the version you actually distribute, including any changes your team makes.

Inspect the package metadata, license files, and dependency notices included with the version you install. If a required notice is missing or unclear, ask the project maintainers to clarify it before redistributing the affected material.

Third-party materials

Dependencies, fonts, icons, images, and example assets may have their own licenses. An Aria UI package's license does not automatically relicense those materials. Keep any required third-party notices and check the original source when reusing an asset.

Names and logos

A software license does not by itself grant permission to imply endorsement by a project or its contributors. When using the Aria UI name or logo, describe your relationship to the project accurately.
